My Vintage Dream

Firstly my almost standard introduction of apologising and making my excuses for being such a poor Blogger. I am so delighted to have so many new followers and believe me I really do appreciate your interest when I go so long between posts! 
Again I have been working away over the last month on my latest project and because I forget to Blog as I go along I am now bombarding you with dozens of photos of the story ... I hope you enjoy them and thank you for staying with me.
And lastly to one of my very special friends who is not a miniaturist or a Blogger but has encouraged me so much over the years and nudges me to update my Blog ........... Happy Birthday next week Gill xx

I bought this gorgeous little shop from Julie Bennet and have had the best fun filling it and finishing it, in fact this is really one of the first projects I have actually completed before moving onto my next.

For the first time I had a go and painting and distressing some bare wood furniture ... and yes let's just say I got a little hooked .... 

Back in my more familiar territory of working with paper & fabric I made books, fabric bolts, sample curtains, rugs, cushions & of course a cannister or two.

Upstairs was even more fun, most of the bits were from my many boxes of things collected over the years, again paint & distressing turned gold frames, lots of charms & ornaments, etc into some cool "vintage" collectibles 

This really has been one of my favourite projects to date, I hope you enjoy the pictures

Its Giveaway time on my poor neglected Blog!!!

To my loyal Blog followers ....where do I begin?? 

When I started my Blog in early 2011 I wondered if anyone would read it but was immediately welcomed into the mini Blog community. I posted at least once a month and regularly followed everyone else's posts.

Then I fell by the way side, I have still been very busy mini making but am shocked to realise I haven't posted in over three months. Yet amazingly my followers are now over 200, I am so happy and promise to post more often again :-)

To thank you all I have put together a collection of my cushions, cannisters and other kitchen bits in aqua & pink, if you would like to enter the draw please leave a comment here or on my Facebook Page and I'll pick a winner on 24th May.

There are three linen cushions, a canvas shopping bag with a french loaf from My Patisserie Francaise, a peg bag, a cookie tin, a set of 4 cannisters, 4 placemats, a bundle of tea towels, an oven glove and glass jar.

Easter Fun

Firstly a very warm spring welcome to my new followers and a Happy Easter holiday to everyone. We have had some beautiful spring weather over the last few weeks, the promised heatwave hasn't quite reached Scotland but beautiful all the same.

Waiting on the bus to work is so much sweeter when the sun shines and the  blossom is on the trees

 I used my blossom to make the centrepiece for my Easter table, it is sitting in eggshells although you cant see them easily!

A mini version .... the eggshells are made from paper but look quite effective if you don't look too closely :-)

  

Lots of Easter goodies for the mini Easter Party ... the graphics were a free download from  Prints of Joy and I bought the chocolate eggs last year from Christine

The pink Easter Egg on the top shelf is from Paris Miniatures, again last year's purchase but at least I was prepared for this Easter :-)

Back to work tomorrow but with the royal wedding next Friday its a three day week and time for something different in my mini world.

I bought this unfinished Bespaq kitchen island unit at a bargain price and I love it ... I'm a little scared to start painting it in case I spoil it but would like it cream with a French country feel ... no more pink, rustic colours I think ... and hopefully then the inspiration to progress with Home to Roost which is a house in progress with a chicken theme. I already have lots of lovely things ready to furnish it.
