A Spot of Gardening

Hello again & welcome to my new followers, I'm still getting my head round the interest and the huge mini blog community out there but its lovely to share my hobby!

It's that time of year here in Scotland ... planting tubs, hanging baskets, cutting grass ... my poor garden has been a little neglected the past couple of years. I like it to look natural but its now gone a bit beyond that & looks slightly out of control !! Or a wilderness as my kids describe it ... but hopefully by this time next year I'll have it back on track.

In the meantime this little mini garden is for a Roombox Competition.

I added a false room at the rear with a window & light to add interest to the basic shape

The scene is from a birthday card and the tree is the large size railway model wire tree, it looks so effective

The lovely little stone rabbit is from Katie's Clay Corner and the little daises are made from quilling paper ... quick, easy & quite pretty

There's trellis above with foliage, fimo grapes, fairy lights with turquoise paper shades

I love the palm tree which is also from the Model Tree Shop and more pink daises

The little shelf in the corner has more quilled paper daisies, the foliage is bits of aquarium plastic plants, the candle is melted wax poured into a tiny glass jar with a 'yankee' label. Katie made the two stone effect ornaments and the Paris sign and hope she likes them here!

This white wire sofa is painted grey, I wanted bright fabric for the cushions ... so I printed these designs on Crafty Computer Linen Paper, love it, best I've found

A fun little windmill

I put together a collection of fimo fruit from my collection, the pink daisies are quilled again, more candles, a card jug, cocktails from Carol McVickers and the anemones are from a kit ... as the instructions were in French I just had to follow the pictures ... I'm really pleased with them :-)

Dusk ... and the little pussy cat is still out there

And finally the real thing ... the passion flower in my conservatory has flowered continuously for 12 months so I must be doing something right

Thanks for looking, Jackie x

Easter Fun

Firstly a very warm spring welcome to my new followers and a Happy Easter holiday to everyone. We have had some beautiful spring weather over the last few weeks, the promised heatwave hasn't quite reached Scotland but beautiful all the same.

Waiting on the bus to work is so much sweeter when the sun shines and the  blossom is on the trees

Cherry Blossom in full bloom in my garden

I used my blossom to make the centrepiece for my Easter table, it is sitting in eggshells although you cant see them easily!

A mini version .... the eggshells are made from paper but look quite effective if you don't look too closely :-)

Lots of Easter goodies for the mini Easter Party ... the graphics were a free download from  Prints of Joy and I bought the chocolate eggs last year from Christine

Any excuse to make more cannisters ... shabby Easter ones here

The pink Easter Egg on the top shelf is from Paris Miniatures, again last year's purchase but at least I was prepared for this Easter :-)

And of course some pink ones ...

... bright pink tulip ones ....

... and pale pink polkadot ones :-)

Pretty duck egg blue cannisters and my lovely spotty teapot from Lory

Blue Easter bunny cannisters

Back to work tomorrow but with the royal wedding next Friday its a three day week and time for something different in my mini world.

I bought this unfinished Bespaq kitchen island unit at a bargain price and I love it ... I'm a little scared to start painting it in case I spoil it but would like it cream with a French country feel ... no more pink, rustic colours I think ... and hopefully then the inspiration to progress with Home to Roost which is a house in progress with a chicken theme. I already have lots of lovely things ready to furnish it.

Ooh La La Paris Party

Firstly I'd like to welcome the followers of my blog, thank you so much for your interest and for your encouraging comments.
I know the main reason I never make decent progress with my major projects is that every time I have a new idea or flash of inspiration off I go and get sidetracked ... again & again!
When I got this Ooh La La Paris Party set from Linnette at PaperGlitter I thought it would be fun to create in 1/12th scale.

Eiffel Tower, Party Hats & Treat Bags

Take Home Party Bags

I can just never resist making more canisters!

The absolutely fabulous cookies & cupcakes are from
Kim Saulter and so is the gorgeous birthday cake which
truly looks good enough to eat

Table set ready for the party guests .........

And one little person who couldn't wait
for the guests before sampling a cherry
cupcake :-)

Thank you for looking, Jackie
